Radial wrist pain
22m
Ultrasound assessment of the wrist is one of the most commonly requested musculoskeletal examinations because of its wide availability, cost effectiveness, accuracy and safety. The causes of radial sided wrist pain are predominantly in a superficial location, making ultrasound the ideal initial radiological investigation for pathology. This presentation will outline the normal anatomy of the radial aspect of the wrist evaluated during routine practice, covering the normal sonographic appearance. The pathological conditions affecting the radial wrist and how to diagnose these with ultrasound will also be covered. Ultrasound can assist the management by making specific diagnoses and can be used to guide some treatment.
