Venous scanning has come to have a central place in the diagnosis, management and follow up of venous disease. While venous is not always the most favoured task for sonographers their contribution to the new developments in venous work is impressive.
Examples will be given to illustrate this. Challenging the old way of seeing things is another pathway to new venous insights ñ recurrence, endofibrosis and microvenous reflux are good examples of this.
