Clinical assessment of causes and response during cardiac arrest is extremely difficult and inaccurate. Echocardiography offers unique insights into these questions, with potentially positive outcomes, but may be deleterious if it interrupts resuscitative efforts or suggests unhelpful interventions. This talk will review the methodology and current date for echo in cardiac arrest and discuss the potential future uses.
